ST. BEDE’S CATHOLIC VOLUNTARY ACADEMY
St Bede’s is an 11-16 secondary school with a capacity for 700 students. The majority of our students come from our partner primary Academies although this is not exclusive and we welcome all students from whatever background.
St Bede’s is currently the most ethnically diverse school in North Lincolnshire and includes a wide range of religious adherence within the student community. At St Bede’s we celebrate uniqueness and place emphasis upon developing the God given talents of each individual.
Our mission is to provide our children with an education of the highest academic standard centred on Gospel Values. Our Mission Prayer is reflective of this:
‘We commit ourselves to Love, Respect and Serve one another as disciples of Jesus Christ’
Consistently St Bede’s is one of the highest achieving schools in the Authority. In 2015 57% of students achieved 5+ A*-C including English and Maths; 74% A*-C in Mathematics and 63% in English. Our Progress 8 figure was 0.08 and we were one of only four schools in the authority to get a positive Progress 8 figure. -0.5 is the Progress 8 floor target.
The Academy has recently undergone an exciting Building Schools for the Future Project. The works include a state-of-the-arts Sports Hall and Multi-Purpose Games pitch as well as a Learning Resource Centre, new IT resources and a suite of new classrooms. These new resources help us to maintain and to strive further for:
‘Excellence for all in the spirit of the Gospel Values’ (Bishop’s statement 1996)
