ST. AUGUSTINE WEBSTER CATHOLIC PRIMARY VOLUNTARY ACADEMY
Saint Augustine Webster is a much larger than average, ethnically diverse Primary School which is oversubscribed. There are currently 455 pupils on roll, over half of these have English as an additional language. Twenty languages are spoken in the school.
The school has undergone extensive refurbishment over the past three years and now provides stimulating accommodation that supports innovative, 21st Century learning.
The latest addition to this is our Science Room – the Station. There is a strong emphasis on Independent Learning and the use of ICT to support this across the curriculum. Learning has never been more exciting.
We have also gained a number of awards in the past two years including, The Eco Green Flag, PE Award Gold Level, International Award, ICT Award, Bronze Green Tree, St. John’s Ambulance and CICM (Communication and Interaction Charter Mark).
The spiritual life of the school is enhanced by our two special areas for prayer and reflection, The Retreat and The Labyrinth. Ofsted 2012 states ‘Pupils’ spiritual, moral and social development is also strongly promoted through good opportunities for collaborative and independent learning and the strong family ethos of the school which is enshrined in care, consideration and respect for others.’
